Here is the view:
Bathroom. We have a toilet and a bidet, which is basically a toilet thing that cleans up your underside. I'd never seen one before and I admit, I thought it was a small sink close to the floor (I'm American, forgive me). Not pictured is the shower which distributes two kinds of water -boiling lava hot and Arctic sea lion spit- and will only give a product somewhat in the middle if you ask very nicely.
Very long and creaky hallway (I'm at the end, to the left). Outside the window are mulberry bushes. Romantic! (I have used the word romantic to describe everything from tea shops to outfits to tube stations)
Flatmates enjoying some crap telly.
Nonfunctional fireplaces are kind of a thing in our part of town. They trust us to bring back alcohol but not to light fires. Smart.
View of the front of our building. We're on the second floor, BYU and UVU kids just moved in on I believe the third and fourth floors (which is A-OK in my book, the Cougars gave us a bunch of tickets to see an enormously popular and expensive show tonight. For FREE!!)
And finally, our drive. That's Hyde Park yonder, we went walking there yesterday and got incredibly wet and had afternoon tea. What, you want to see that too? I guess it could be arranged...
This is the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain. In a few days, the water will start to flow through it again and guests are welcome to sit quietly with their feet in the stream, remembering. It was very silent and very sad.
Yum-o. I drank two pots (not cups. POTS.) of tea and couldn't go to sleep that night. It was fun and fancy and so very English (tea, not the being up all night. That sucked), even though we were miserably sopping wet. Then we walked through the park to the flat and got even colder and passed by the palace and knocked on Wills and Kate's door and they invited us in for pizza and Yahtzee. Or maybe I just went to the grocery store by myself. Let's not get caught up in details.
